A unique opportunity to reflect on the Paschal mystery

The exhibition of Sergio Rodella’s Sindonic Man and Albano Poli’s Christ of Hope represents an extraordinary opportunity to immerse oneself in the mystery of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. These works, the result of a deep investigation between art, science and spirituality, offer visitors a unique opportunity to reflect on the heart of the Christian message.

SCIENCE

Experimental Approach and Artistic Sensitivity in the Service of Faith

Sergio Rodella’s Sindonic Man was born from a rigorous three-dimensional study of the Shroud, combining in-depth scientific research with incredible artistic sensitivity. Albano Poli’s Christ of Hope, with its strong visual and emotional impact, conveys a message of redemption and hope, uniting the pain of the Cross with the light of the Resurrection.

Sergio Rodella

Sergio Rodella (1949-2022), sculptor and scholar of the human figure, dedicated part of his career to researching the Shroud of Turin, creating the Sindonic Man, one of the most accurate three-dimensional representations of the body wrapped in the Sacred Linen. His work combines scientific rigor and artistic sensitivity, contributing to a profound reflection on the mystery of Christ’s Passion.

ART

Albano Poli’s Christ of Hope, contemporary iconography combining Passion and Resurrection

Albano Poli’s Christ of Hope proposes a novel vision of the Crucifix: a work that captures both the moment of sacrifice and that of the glorious Resurrection. Dynamic lines and textural contrasts transform the symbol of suffering into an image of victory and redemption, leading the viewer to meditate on Christian Hope.

High Craftsmanship in the Service of Art and Architecture: the Atelier Progetto Arte Poli

Progetto Arte Poli, founded by Maestro Albano Poli, is a landmark in sacred art, known for its ability to combine traditional techniques and innovation. The works created by the atelier arise from a skillful balance between craftsmanship and expressive research, testifying to the eternal value of beauty as a universal language of faith.

Albano Poli

Albano Poli (1935-2024), artist and master glassmaker, is founder of Atelier Progetto Arte Poli in Verona. With more than sixty years of experience in sacred art, he has created works in churches and cathedrals around the world, combining tradition with contemporary expressive research. His artistic vision is based on the fusion of ancient materials and techniques to create works with a strong symbolic and spiritual impact.

FAITH

The Sagrada Familia, when nature inspires art, Creation meets Creator

The Temple of the Expiatory Sagrada Familia, an architectural masterpiece by Antoni Gaudí, is the ideal place to host this exhibition. Gaudí’s vision, inspired by nature as an expression of divine creation, dialogues perfectly with these works of sacred art, generating a bridge between the past, present and future of the Christian faith.

Jubilee Pilgrims of Hope 2025

The exhibition is part of the Jubilee of Hope 2025, an event that draws faithful from all over the world to rediscover the value of faith in an age of change and uncertainty. The works by Sergio Rodella and Albano Poli are intended as instruments of meditation and prayer for pilgrims on their way to a renewed spiritual awareness.
